Applications
Medical Applications / NIBP Monitors

In clinical intensive care units a patient's vital signs need to be monitored at least every 15 to 30 minutes. This is accomplished with patient monitors which typically display the patient's heart rate, body temperature, respiration rate and blood pressure.

A rolling diaphragm pump is responsible for inflating the cuff at the beginning of each blood pressure measurement.  Solenoid valves control the deflation process during which actual readings are taken.
