Vacuum is widely used in the hospital environment, and connection points would be found throughout the wards and operating theatres for medical suction units to be connected to.  Typically the vacuum pumps for such a system would be centralised rather than dispersed through the hospital building, oil lubricated rotary vane and rotary claw units will be suitable, either in conjunction with a vacuum receiver, or as an Air-Center tailored to the exact pumping requirements.
