A side effect of vacuum packaging of food, and of many finishing processes in the plastics industry is the generation of large amounts of trim - off cuts of plastic film or foil.  Collection of this can be automated, by using a trim removal systems typically using radial or side channel vacuum pumps to provide the high air flow required.
